INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Press the clean function button for 2 seconds to empty the tank (make sure there is a tray of suitable size under the dispenser outlet to collect the water). Then press the filter volume reset button for 2 seconds to clear the memory.

Remove the old filter from the hopper and discard/recycle. Replace the funnel (without the filter).

Follow the phases of the cleaning cycle according to the SET UP instructions of the machine.

Handle the filter cartridge from the top only - (i) remove the filter cartridge from the package. (ii) Fill a basin with cold drinking water. (iii) fully submerge the filter in the water, ensuring that the water completely covers the cartridge. (iv) Gently shake the filter while fully submerged to remove any trapped air bubbles.

Remove the water funnel and install the filter. Replace the water tank.

General installation instructions

NOTE: If there is loose carbon inside the package and outside the filter, this is not unusual.

See the FAQs on the Tommee Tippee website, which refer to the presence of black particles in the cartridge. The answer provided on the website repeats the installation instructions here.

Any residual carbon can be easily removed by rinsing the filter with cold water. Its presence does not adversely affect the performance of the filter.

These replacement filters have a capacity of 150 liters and remove impurities in water for up to 3 months (based on an average consumption of 6 bottles of 260 ml per day).

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) - read before you buy

Q: Why are there black particles in the water?

A: You may find a small residue of black carbon in the bag or on the surface of the cartridge. this can happen and is nothing to worry about. These small grains of carbon are called "fines." They are harmless and will shrink during the initial installation process when you submerge the filter in clean, fresh water. The carbon used in the filter is food grade certified and therefore does not cause any harm. All quality filters on the market require pre-washing to remove carbon particles. Some systems may require more than one flush. This is especially true in the presence of salt or hard water. If you go on vacation and do not use filtered water for several days, flush the systems again to remove standing water.

Q: Why does it seem like the water is not being filtered/the water flow is reduced?

A: The filter is designed with the highest quality carbon to remove impurities in the water and ultra-filtration membrane. The problem may have been caused by not soaking long enough and slightly shaking the filter fully submerged in water before installation. This can restrict flow through the filter once it is in place. Wetting the filter before use ensures that any air bubbles or loose particles inside the filter are removed before use. The presence of air bubbles could endanger the operation of the machine. The dive should only last about a minute. Once the filter is inserted into the machine, use the first bottle cycle without adding formula as the final wash to complete the process. Once it's done, you're ready to go.

Q: If I don't change the filter every 3 months, can I damage the system?

A: Yes, you should replace the filter every 3 months or sooner if the water flow to the dispenser is reduced or if there is heavy sediment/rust.
